Anders Alfed Hegelund

Born in Vendsyssel 1938 into a supportive and artistic family Anders Hegelund early on had a pencil or a brush in his hand. As a young man he studied with Johannes Hoffmeister (1914-1990) finding inspiration in the luminosity and simplicity of the landscapes around him. These early works were much appreciated by local art galleries. Gifted with a good eye and a keen

sense of structural form Anders found his way into the Royal Academy of Fine Arts graduating with honors and establishing his own long standing architect’s and design office. You can trace Anders Hegelund’s architectural aptitude in his imagery: Daring compositions, intricate structures and governing lines set in motion by a non-wavering luminous palette, reconfiguring like Malevich, Braque and Mortensen before him the quest for true abstraction.


Anders Hegelund’s works have been exhibited at several galleries in Denmark and the US.
